A. A request has been
made by Aulander L. Crisp to construct a new house located at 406 East
Water Street with vinyl siding, standing seam metal roof, Anderson vinyl
clad windows, Anderson vinyl clad doors, synthetic material on porch floor
and railings and a carport/storage area with treated 6 x 6 post with roof

B. A request has been
made by Martha and Harold Jackson to remove a damaged and unhealthy cedar
tree located on the street right-of-way at 122 South Harvey.
A. Major Works, Certificate
of Appropriateness
1. A request
has been made by Metropolitan Low Income Housing CDC, Inc to install vinyl
siding on the dwelling located at 220 East 3rd Street. Vinyl
siding will match that on 316 N. Harvey St., 235 E. MLK, 239 E. MLK, 334
N. Harvey St., 320 N. Harvey St., 123 E. MLK, 129 E. MLK, 122 E. MLK,
408 N. Bonner St., and 224 E. 3rd St.
2. A request
has been made by Charles Sopher to remove the following trees from 510
E. 2nd Street: 2 dogwood trees in the front yard; 3 trees immediately
adjacent to the left side of the house (1 oak & 2 chinaberry); 1 crepe
myrtle located on street right-of-way facing left front of house.
3. A request has been
made by Fred Hawkins to replace rotten floor boards on front porch and
rotten wood columns on the house located at 518 E. 2nd Street.
4. A request has been
made by Mary Havens Cooper, 129 Van Norden Street to remove an 8"
cedar tree. The tree obstructs drivers visibility of traffic on Second
Street and poses a threat to the eaves and roof of verandah.
B. Minor Works
1. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Karen
Hoover, 221 W. Main Street to repair outside planter box and box in pipes
at backdoor.
2. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Bobby
and Ellen Roberson, 235 E. Main Street to replace flooring system on front
porch with wood material due to deterioration of rotten tongue & groove.
3. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for Ralph
Dramstad, 105 Gladden Street to build and exit hall from the existing
third floor bedroom to allow exit to roof from bedroom. This new addition
will not be visible from the street.
4. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness to Robert
Gautier, Jr. to set 2 A/C compressors on the right rear of the house located
at 704 East Main Street (Kenneth Tisdale).
5. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness to Daniel
Congleton to replace porch and re-paint the house located at 513 E. 2nd
Street.
6. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness to William
Litchfield to replace roof and ceiling on existing awning at 157 W. Main
St.
7. A request has been
made and approved by staff for a Certificate of Appropriateness for William
McCotter to replace damaged roofing (asphalt) with 30 year asphalt/fiberglass
roofing(shingles); repair damaged roof sheathing with like material; install
ridge vent and drip edge; replace HVAC unit at rear of house; replace
rear window with like material at 116 Bonner Street.
